This is the moment Verizon made the wish come true for its wireless users who, since 2007 are wanting to enjoy the cool of the iPhone trend.

On Tuesday, Verizon announced in a press conference in New York City that it will begin selling Apple’s iPhone which will be available from February 10 according to the Apple Website.
COO Lowell McAdam, said that Verizon will carry the same iPhone 4 AT&T has only it will be connecting on the CDMA network instead of GSM.

As an AT&T Valued costumer I doubt I will switch to Verizon, but how about T-mobile and Sprint Subscribers?
I know a lot of people always complain about the iPhone and come up with a lot of excuses to convince themselves it is not a good phone, but mostly these excuses come from envying the iPhone owners wishing they can break their contract and join the lucky ones on the AT&T network…
But now with the major event and the end of the Exclusivity contract between Apple and AT&T, more people have the chance to get the infamous iPhone.

Now the question is, which network will you switch to (or remain with) to enjoy the iPhone experience?  Is it going to be AT&T or Verizon?

First lets take a quick look and compare the devices offered by each network.

AT&T iPhone Verizon iPhone
Network supported GSM 850/900/1,800/1,900; HSDPA 850/900/1,900/2,100 CDMA 850/1,900; EV-DO Rev. A
Simultaneous use of voice and data Yes No
Mobile hot-spot No Yes, up to five wi-fi devices
Price $199 for 16GB, $299 for 32GB $199 for 16GB, $299 for 32GB
Data plan $15 for 200MB; $25 for 2GB; $45 for 2GB plus tethering Unknown yet.
Colors Black and white. Availability of white model is said to be this spring. Black and white. Availability of white model is also said to be this spring, according to a Verizon spokesperson.

The table above simply tells us the following:

1- GSM means Faster 3G network, CDMA means slower 3G, and remember iPhone 4 doesn’t support 4G network.

2- GSM means SIM card, CDMA means no SIM card;  That means with GSM you have the freedom to insert in it any SIM card (You will need to Jailbreak your device), and even though the iPhone 4 has the mini SIM, converters and adapters are all over the internet and you get them for few bucks.

3- Let’s say you’re the successful business man, and you are traveling and here’s your agent on the phone telling you about a link with some interesting information you need to look at right now!  With AT&T iPhone you can put him on Speaker, open safari and here it is, this is called simultaneous use of voice and data, unfortunately you will not be able to enjoy this feature with the Verizon iPhone, you may say you never really use this feature, well you might be right, but it is a MISSING feature.

4- The Hot Spot feature is really cool, The CDMA iPhone will be running iOS 4.2.5 and has the Personal Hotspot option built into the Settings section, not as a third-party app on the desktop.  Verizon hadn’t said how much extra the Hotspot will cost, if at all. It already has a tethering plan in place that costs $20 per month for 2GB of sharing.  I will leave to you to judge on this feature though…

5- We will only wait to see what type of Data plan will Verizon offer to its iPhone users.  Will they offer an unlimited plan?

In the end each user will be the judge and make his/her decision, I know a lot of people who are Android users, and they complain about having to carry their iPod and phone all the times, and they are looking forward to have the iPhone so they can have both in one.

From the people I talked to, none of the AT&T costumers said they were willing to leave AT&T to Verizon, however to a lot of Verizon existing users, today was a waited day for years, and their dream came true.
We will wait and see how things will turn out for the Verizon Network and what kind of service will be offered.

No doubt AT&T and Verizon will face a major competition both of them offering the iPhone, the question remains will T-mobile and Sprint be next?

I think the generation that uses the iPhone most, is our kids generation.
If you have kids you know exactly what I am talking about.

You’ll be visiting with your friends, at a restaurant eating, or on a long trip in the car, or even at church and your kid seems like the loudest, we all go in such moments, and we want something to keep them occupied.

Thank God for the iPhone and the iPod touch.

I tried to see out of the tons of apps I downloaded which ones are the ones my kids play the most, and thought I’s share them with you.

1- Cut the Rope lite: This is one the best applications to keep your kids occupied  for a long time.
They will be  love feeding that Green Frog the candy hanging on the rope, the trick is how and when to cut the rope so the candy makes its way to the frog’s mouth.  Helps building skills as well, through the outstanding physics, and the tricky levels combined with colorful visuals.

2- Fruit Ninja lite: Simple game yet very addictive.  All you need to do is swipe the screen to deliciously slash and splatter fruit like a true ninja warrior.
You can unlock new blades and different backgrounds.  Very sharp graphics and colors.

3- Barbie® I can be: If you have a girl she will fall in love with this application.  Help Barbie make a Pizza, roll out the dough, layer on your favorite sauces and cheeses with just a rub of your finger.  Add the toppings, including the frensh fries and pickles!
Take the puppy to the Vet, brush her fur, put bandages, and make the puppy happy!
Visit the BAkery and make some delectable cupcake, and decorate them with lots of frosting and tasty toppings.

4- TuTu Train – Kids Lite: This is a simple 2D racing game, featuring old school music and graphics.  A two wagons train loaded with coal.  Help the train get past the tracks in the game as fast as possible, there is a forwards button a backwards button and the middle button sounds Horn. My son loves it and enjoy sounding the Horn TuTu…

5- Doodle Buddy – Paint, Draw, Scribble, Sketch – it’s Addictive! This game can be for all ages, and replaces most of the papers and crayons and saves you all the frustration from cleaning after your kids, and washing the walls, the doors and all the surfaces they are not supposed to draw on.
Finger paint with your favorite colors and drop in playful stamps.  the stamps are so much fun since each stamp make a sound of the character it represents.

This was my simple list for today, hopefully it was useful to you and help you keep your kids or yourself occupied !

Thank you for stopping by, please subscribe and stay tuned, I will be posting more reviews in the future.

Have a great day!
